A city to experience at a slower pace
Srinagar brings together the lakeside atmosphere of Dal Lake, landscaped gardens and the everyday movement of the city. It is also the overnight base for many of our Kashmir itineraries. Giving the city its own sightseeing day helps separate arrival formalities from the experiences you came to enjoy. Our shorter routes combine arrival and sightseeing, but that needs an early arrival and a realistic schedule.
Mughal gardens and Pari Mahal
Our Srinagar sightseeing programme includes Nishat Garden, Shalimar Garden and Chashme Shahi, followed by Pari Mahal. Instead of treating every stop as a quick photograph, decide how much walking and garden time suits your group. If you are travelling with young children or older family members, discuss the pace before the itinerary is confirmed. Entry fees are not part of the standard package unless your quote includes them.
Dal Lake and the Shikara experience
A Shikara ride is included in our standard Kashmir packages and is normally placed on the Srinagar sightseeing day. The planned complimentary duration is 30–60 minutes. Agree the timing and scope with your tour coordinator, and check separately before accepting any paid additions offered locally. A Floating Market visit can be discussed when arranging the ride.
A hotel or a houseboat?
A hotel and a houseboat create different stays. A houseboat offers a traditional setting on Dal Lake; a hotel may suit travellers who want to keep the same base throughout several day trips. Tell us your room requirements and whether you want a houseboat night. The final itinerary should clearly name the overnight location rather than listing both without explanation.
Arrival-day sightseeing and seasonal visits
For a relaxed arrival, consider Lal Chowk, Boulevard Road or Dalgate after checking in. A full garden circuit needs more time. The Tulip Garden is a seasonal request rather than a standard year-round stop: it belongs on the sightseeing day only when selected and when open. Confirm current opening and access arrangements for your dates before relying on the visit.
Where Srinagar fits in your route
Many itineraries use Srinagar for day trips to Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpathri and Aharbal. Pahalgam may be included as an overnight stay, depending on your duration. An airport or railway station pickup is a transfer arrangement, not a sightseeing day by itself. Share arrival and departure details so those days are planned accurately.

Planning questions.
Can you include Srinagar in my itinerary?
Yes. Choose a linked package or use the itinerary builder. Let us know your total days and pickup and drop points so we can review the route.
Are activities and local transport included?
The written quote states exactly what is included. Entry tickets, Gondola rides, local union taxis and other paid activities are excluded unless listed in your confirmed package.
Can I change the plan after booking?
Please finalise your route, stays and preferences before confirming. Do not assume that hotel, route or day changes will be available after booking.
